Description

We run a cell of six ABB six-axis arms and our operators currently diagnose problems by standing at the safety fence and watching. When a cycle faults, working out which axis stalled and why means pulling logs off the controller afterwards. We want a browser-based 3D view of the cell, driven live from controller telemetry, showing joint positions, cycle state and faults as they happen — plus the ability to scrub back through the last fifteen minutes to see what led to a stop. Frame rate matters. At 60fps this is a diagnostic tool; at 12fps it is a toy that nobody opens twice. You will be working with our controls engineer for the telemetry feed, which is the part most people underestimate.

Responsibilities

  • Build the WebGL cell view in React with accurate kinematics for the ABB six-axis arms
  • Drive it live from controller telemetry, working with our controls engineer on the feed
  • Implement a fifteen-minute scrub-back buffer for post-fault diagnosis
  • Hold 60fps on the operator terminals we already have, not on a workstation you choose
  • Show fault codes in context on the affected joint rather than in a separate list

Deliverables

  • Browser-based 3D digital twin of the six-arm cell
  • Live telemetry integration with scrub-back buffer
  • Performance report on the existing operator hardware
  • Operator walkthrough and documentation
