Description

We have Power BI, we have a warehouse, and we have a two-week queue for any new report. Most of that queue is not hard analysis — it is "same report, filtered to my region, for last quarter". We want an agent that answers those questions directly against the warehouse, in natural language, and returns a figure with the SQL it ran. The SQL is the point: our analysts will not trust a number they cannot check, and they are right not to. Scope is our sales and inventory marts only. Do not attempt the finance mart — its definitions change quarterly and we would rather keep that behind a human.

• Build natural-language querying over the sales and inventory marts, with the generated SQL always shown
• Encode our metric definitions so "revenue" means one thing, and refuse questions that are ambiguous
• Restrict access to the two in-scope marts at the connection level, not the prompt level
• Return results with row counts and freshness timestamps so nobody quotes a stale figure
• Log every query for the analytics team to review and promote into real reports
